This organic Sangiovese comes from three vineyards at Casato Prime Donne, situated on the cool northern area of Montalcino at about 225m, rooted in clays and sands. This was native fermented in stainless before aging 6 months in large tonneaux. Branchy and medicinal black and red cherry, tobacco, and baking spices is lifted with tight, herbal acidity on the juicy palate. Ample sticky tannins take this to a warming, wood spiced finish. Partner with autumnal lamb / beef dishes.
