Maxime Barrot
Maxime Barrot
Beaujolais, France
Originally from the Beaujolais village of Charnay, in the land of the Golden Stones, Maxime Barrot learned how to make natural wine in Chile, with Roberto Henriquez, who was influenced by Antoine Luyt, who was influenced by Marcel Lapierre (iconic Gang of Four). Inspired, he returned to France and did some work for Bret Brothers (stars of the Mâconnais) and natural wine superstar Yvon Métras, before setting out to make his own wines. These are made in the cellar of Eric Texier in the Rhône, hence they are labelled as Vin de France.
