Podere 414 is the personal project of oenologist Maurizio Castelli, and the result of his dream of an integrated farm, run according to biodynamic principles.

Riccardo and Jennifer Campinoti purchased the property with a mix of old vines and younger plantings, and established Le Ragnaie in 2003. The organically farmed estate is divided into three distinct parcels across 42 acres in Montalcino.

Donatella Cinelli Colombini left her family’s estate in 1998 to start her own, made up of Casato in Montalcino, and Fattoria del Colle in Trequanda. It became the first winery in Italy with an all-female team.
