Bacchus is equal parts organic Montepulciano and Sangiovese, grown in mixed clay soils 300m on the Marche hills surrounding the towns of Offida and Acquaviva Picena, in Ascoli Piceno province. This unoaked red is designed to be consumed in youth, with gobs of cherry, black raspberry, plum, and pipe tobacco filling the fleshy, medium weight palate. Acidity is brisk, and tannins are grippy / sticky, pinning this to a spiced / scrubby finish. Enjoy with lamb or mushroom burgers.
